Foundation pint glass.jpg

Do you feel a bit lost in the world of ales, lagers, malt, and hops?  What’s the difference between a pilsner, IPA, stout, porter, hefeweizen, etc.?  Level up your beer knowledge and join the Anderson Foundation for Parks & Recreation for an evening of beer tasting and education at Johnson Hills Park on May 14 from 6:00-8:00pm.

This session will teach you the basics of beer – we’ll talk about the three of the main ingredients in beer (malt, yeast, and hops), and how different combinations of these ingredients can create a diverse array of beer styles.  We will sample 8-9 local beers along the way, allowing you to see, smell, and taste how these ingredients affect the final product.  You will come away with an understanding of what makes beer beer, and be able to understand and describe the differences among a variety of beer styles.

The registration fee for this event is $40, and registration includes a keepsake etched pint glass with the Parks Foundation logo.  Foundation Members receive a discounted registration fee of $30 – if you’re not already a Member, you can become one today and receive the discounted rate for this event.  There will only be a limited number of spaces available at the event, so register today to secure your spot!
